Infrastructureand Comms Rooms

Cabling, switching and firewalls, specified once and documented properly.

A labelled patch panel in a comms room

In most hotels the comms room is where three refurbishments have left their evidence. Nothing is labelled, the rack has a fan heater next to it, and the only person who knew what the blue cables did left in 2019. We specify, install and document infrastructure so the next person can work on it.

What is included

  • Structured cabling, patching and comms room rebuilds, including work in listed buildings
  • Firewalls, switching, routing and VLAN design that keeps guest, staff and payment traffic apart
  • Procurement of laptops, desktops, servers and terminals, supplied build-ready
  • Leased lines, broadband and failover circuits, arranged and managed on your behalf
  • Pre-opening and refurbishment programmes, phased around the construction schedule
  • As-built documentation and an asset register kept current, which is what makes a sale or a handover simple

Who it is for

Properties in refurbishment, pre-opening, change of ownership, or running an estate that has grown without a plan.

Questions we get asked

Can you take over an installation somebody else did?

Yes. A take-on starts with an audit of what is physically there, which is rarely what the paperwork says.

Do you work alongside the main contractor on a refurbishment?

Yes. On refurbishment and pre-opening work we sit in the programme with the contractor and the operator, so first fix and containment happen at the right time rather than after the plaster.

Start with the Wi-Fi

A guest Wi-Fi audit is the quickest way to see how we work: we survey the property, test what guests actually experience, and report on what needs doing and what it costs. The findings are yours whether or not you go ahead.
